Sampling Shockoe, the week-long $30 three-course prix fixe dining event, is over, and we want to hear from you. Did you dine out at one of the participating restaurants last week?
How was it? What did you think of the event? Would you go again next year?
It looks like Sampling Shockoe will be on again next August. Restaurant owners and diners alike seemed to enjoy the event, so Richmond.com is ready and willing to dive in again in 2011.
And we’ve already decided that adding a charity donation component will be essential for Sampling Shockoe 2011.
This year, Sampling Shockoe participant Julep's New Southern Cuisine decided to donate a portion of their proceed to a charity anyway, raising over $1,300 for Hayes Foundation, "a local organization that strives to support the awareness of SIDS through partnerships with local, regional and national organizations to educate parents, siblings, grandparents, caregivers or anyone who cares for an infant about the foundation’s This Side Up campaign."
