When it comes to foodie love in Richmond there’s one event that has every restaurant-lover's heart and it’s Restaurant Week.
We Richmonders spend all year looking forward to October for that fabulous week-long dining holiday that the folks at Acacia have so generously bestowed upon our fair city.
Yes, we love Restaurant Week, but October is only once a year … and 12 months is a long time to wait.
Luckily, Richmond’s newest dining event is enough like Restaurant Week to get us through the hard months, but different enough to be a whole new barrel of fun all unto itself.
It’s Sampling Shockoe, and it’s just over a month away.
You know the concept – one price, three courses, some of Richmond’s hottest restaurants, all for one week – but this one is a little different since it just focuses on all the character, charm and, of course, flavor, that the restaurants in the historic Shockoes have to offer.
Sampling Shockoe is a unique, week-long dining event that allows Richmonders to "sample" some of the best flavors of the Shockoes in a three-course prix fixe menu for just $30 a person during the week of August 9 – 15.
We know, the price point is $5 higher than Restaurant Week, but this let’s the chefs get a little more creative with the menu or, for some, add in an extra course. It’s all up to them, but, just like with Restaurant Week, we’ll keep you posted on the menus as they come available.
