The Folk Fest isn't just about the music. Okay, it's mostly about the music.
But it's also about three days of enjoying food and drink on Brown's Island, socializing with your friends, and digging into dee-licious food from Richmond restaurants and more.
There will be standard festival food -- like funnel cakes, spiral fries and corn dogs -- but this festival gets a little more exotic.
You can also nibble on spring rolls from Ginger Thai, rockfish sliders from Sam Millier's and samosas from India K'Raja at this year's Folk Festival.
Plus, there will be beer -- available for consumption throughout the festival -- which is a step up from year's past when you had to drink in specific areas. We say, cheers to that!
Here's what we're excited to try at this year's Folk Fest:
Gail's Eatery: Roti, Red beans, curry chicken, fish, plantains
Nadar's Bistro: Beef, lamb, chicken kebobs, hummus, stuffed grape leaves
Ginger Thai Taste: Satay chicken, skewers, spring rolls
India K' Raja: Samosa, kabobs, masala, mango lassi
Sam Miller's: Crabcakes, shucked oysters, rockfish sliders
La Milpa: Burritoes, Tacos, quesadillas, taco salad, nachos
Hammerheads Seafood: Alligator bites, crawfish ettouffee, bourbon chicken, shrimp creole, catfish nuggets
Mid-East Morsels: Chicken kebab, and Lahmajun (Armenian Meat Pie), rice pilaf, bulgur salad, red cabbage
