Help Us Help a Richmond Family

We're helping the Salvation Army's Richmond Christmas Mother fund again this year -- for the third year in a row -- and we're asking you to donate food, clothing and simple items such as pots and pans to a local single mother and her three children.

We're not asking for much in the way of expense, but we are asking for your time and that's a precious commodity during the holidays, we know. But please, the next time you go to Wal-Mart or Ukrop's or Target or K-Mart or another favorite store, buy a little something extra. Then drop it off at Richmond.com (1118 W. Main St., near Virginia Commonwealth University) between 9 and 5.

If you can't make it to one of our drop boxes, call Richmond.com editor John Denniston at (804) 355-4500 ext. 363 or e-mail him and we'll arrange a pick-up. Or mail a check made out to The Christmas Mother and send to Editor, Richmond.com, 1118 W. Main St., Richmond, VA 23220. We'll be collecting until Thursday morning, Dec. 13, so please hurry! We're making it easy. The giving is up to you.
