The popular fairy-tale ballet and eye candy for the whole family, The Nutcracker , is back. This production features performers from the Richmond Ballet and the Richmond Symphony Orchestra . There will also be plenty of non-food gift choices from local artists – blown glass, jewelry, clothing, quilts and bunches of other stuff at insanely reasonable prices. It started as a three hour tour and ended up as a floating Christmas parade, The James River Parade of Lights . Local boat owners, not to be outdone by tacky landlubbers, adorn their boats with lights, decorations, and anything else seasonal and float leisurely down the James to the delight of thousands of Richmonders.
