Best of Richmond Blogs

So many great Richmond blogs, so little time.  We pick a handful of our favorites …

Karri Peifer, editor, Richmond.com

RVAblogs

Honestly, I read them all and love them all (OK, I love many of them), so RVA has to be at the top of my list.

Church Hill People's News

The now defunct Hills and Heights is my neighborhood blog, but no one does the community blog better than John Murden, so props to the best.

Buttermilk & Molasses and Tobacco Avenue

Picking three is too hard, so I'll go with four. Hands down, Buttermilk is the best in Richmond, but TA makes me laugh out loud, so I had to go with a tie. Readers might notice the blaring absence of food blogs on my list. As a food writer, there are just too many to pick ( in vino veritas , i wish i could cook , Genevelyn Steele swallows , to name a few). I love them all.

Tobacco Avenue

A Richmond "news" blog reminiscent of The Onion, TA holds nothing back in an onslaught of humorous articles poking fun at the city, its people and other random things. I read it and laugh almost every day.

Jack Goes Forth

Although I don't believe a single word Jack says about his exciting life full of slinging booze and sleeping with an absurd amount of women, I find myself coming back to it everyday.

Circles of Concrete

A music blog featuring new and upcoming artists both nationally and locally, concert reviews and other assorted ramblings with download links to lots of songs. Perfect for music junkies like me.

Cameron Walker, content coordinator

Jocelyn's Corner

I can be having the worst day ever and this blog will crack me up.  The blog reminds me of a cross between old Married With Children and Roseanne episodes.  I can't get enough!

Made in Richmond

This has to be one of my favorites.  The way Valerie writes makes you feel like you know her.  Plus the new pics of the baby are beyond adorable!

RVANews and Buttermilk & Molasses

These two always have my attention.  I would be lying if I said I didn't check them more than once a day.

Colleen Curran, entertainment editor, inRich.com

River City Food & Wine

I check River City Food & Wine to see what she's drinking (this week: tiny bubbles at affordable prices), where she's eating (Black Sheep, Bistro 27) and where to pick up fresh finds like proscuitto di parma at Belmont Butchery.  She also posts yummy photos of her dishes at restaurants and home-cooked meals.

Church Hill People's News

I check in to Church Hill People's News to find out what's new and going on in the neighborhood.  Also, I like how they link back to the RTD for the latest shooting or crime report.

Spying on Suburbia and Libby with a Y

Funny moms, living the dream.  Plus great tips for raising kids in Richmond, like finding tickets for the Santa train, how to plan a great birthday party and more.
