This year's 3rd Annual Great Richmond Region Adventure returns to Richmond April 25, 2009. The event will once again bring the thrill of treasure hunting to life with puzzles, clues and maps.

If you think you have the Richmond knowledge and physical agility to race opponents down the streets of Richmond in search of the final destination and treasure this could be the event for you.

The Great Richmond Region Adventure is designed similar to the "Amazing Race" and "Treasure Hunters." If you are unfamiliar with either of these shows, the logistics are simple.

In order to compete in the adventure you will need to build a team with a minimum of two and a maximum of six teammates. The team will race opponents on foot down the streets of downtown Richmond. Along the way, teams will use maps and clues to decipher codes and puzzles until discovering the final treasure.

Unlike the previous years, the top three treasure hunting teams will win cash prizes. This year's winning team will receive $1700 plus an addition $1700 will be donated to a museum or attraction of the team's choice. Second prize is $1000 and third prize is $600.

The adventure kicks off at noon at an undisclosed location. If you have already registered, the location has been sent to you via e-mail. If you have yet to register, you can do so until April 22, 2009. This year's registration fee is $25 per person.
