Richmond Movie Theaters: Then and Now
Richmond has been home to numerous movie theaters over the decades and with the newest one, Movieland, opening its doors today, we decided to take a look into the past and see what's come and gone in the area.
With help from the Virginia Historical Society and richmondthenandnow.com, here is a collection of old movie theaters and what's in their place now.

| Byrd Theatre | 2906 W. Cary St. | still in use today; historic landmark |
| Capitol Theater | 2525 W. Broad St. | demolished; new building in place |
| National Theater | 714 E. Broad St. | renovated and restored as concert venue |
| Lee Theater | 934 W. Grace St. | now VCU's Grace Street Theater |
| Venus Theater | 1412 Hull St. | incorporated into an apartment/retail building |
