Twitter and Facebook Tales: Transformers 2, Favorite MJ and #my1stalbum
This week we buzzed about Why, Richmond, Why?!?, Transformers 2, our first album, devices we can't do without on vacation and more.
Why, Richmond, Why?!? tends to be one of the more popular staples of Richmond.com and lately, well, it seems some readers have a bone to pick with us.
Karri Peifer, who compiles the questions and hunts for the answers each week (usually ;)) says it has to do with Search Engine Optimization (read: dollar signs) and the fact that "I haven’t been writing it as regularly as I used to. I’m trying to get back on the wagon, so keep sending the questions."
So, send her a question. She's super excited to hear from you.
This wouldn't be any fun without at least one mention of a Mike Ward blog, would it? Last week he reviewed Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen, a film he referred to as "high-pitched squeals, hobo-penned dialogue and just jaw-dropping awfulness."
Awesome! I can't wait to see!
Anyway, I'm only privy to this because I work here but we got a few "off-color" comments on this one. Regrettably, we had to delete them due to really fun words like [(slang term for kitty-cat and female anatomy)+(another word for poop)], a popular nickname for people named Richard and a curse word that rhymes with truckin'.
Basically, though, they had this to say:
And an annoyed response to that comment went like this:
I wonder if we could get him/her to write for us?
I digress. We did get a RT (retweet, peeps!) about the review that was complementary:
OK, so what else? Umm, we wanted to know the one device you folks HAVE to have with you on vacation.
The poll results actually showed most people said their "cell phones" and since an iPhone is a cell phone, I think it's safe to say you people can't live without them. Duh.
297 of you voted for your favorite Michael Jackson song in honor of his recent and unfortunate passing. "Billie Jean" took it home with 23% of the vote.
"Man In the Mirror" totally got shafted. And I know, you're dying to ask...Where's PYT?! Huumph.
Naturally, being the music junkie that I am, this tweet from @J_T_Ray caught my eye:
I joined in with:
My first album was technically my dad's but it's got to be a tie between John Cougar Mellencamp's Lonesome Jubilee and Full Moon Fever from Tom Petty.
