Come experience it all at the 2nd Annual Shockoe Chef Showdown this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the 17th Street Farmers Market on the corner of 17th and Main streets.

This Richmond tradition-in-the-making brings out the best dishes that the River District has to offer. From the wine –and-dines in Shockoe Slip, to the bars of Shockoe Bottom, participants and guests alike will be sure to find a happy fusion of taste and a delectable dining experience in the midst of fierce competition.

Some of the participants include Julep’s New Southern Cuisine, Halligan’s Bar &Grill, Lulu’s, Café Gutenberg and Africanne on Main.

Just keep in mind, while these chefs come from various areas within the Slip and Bottom, their only alliance is to their restaurant, their dish and, of course, their culinary expertise.

It’s every chef for himself at the Shockoe Chef Showdown.

Fortunately for the attendees, you can experience it all by spending $ 2 for a sample dish and there will be three categories within the competition; meat, vegetarian and dessert. Can you say yum?

If this all doesn’t sound appetizing and engaging enough, just check it out for yourself this Saturday. I’m sure that you’ll leave feeling full, satisfied and ready to come back for more.
