MTV's 'The Real World' Wants You

"The Real World," the show that started the whole reality TV movement, is coming to Richmond this Saturday, Oct. 24 to cast for the 24th season of the hit MTV series.

You know the show, the story of 12 strangers, picked to live in a loft ... wait, that’s might not be right. That was the tag line the last time many of us watched the show, in the early ‘90s, when the show was about actually about 12 strangers.

A more apt description might now be, 12 barely adult strangers, with an insatiable appetite for alcohol and an affinity for exhibitionism, picked to live on a 4-month long Spring Break ...

OK, maybe that’s not fair. Or is it? Applicants must be between the ages 18 and 24 and this season, producers are specifically looking for individuals who are physically challenged, struggling with weight issues and/or were part of the foster care system. [Insert your own sarcastic quip here.]

Auditions will be held at the downtown location of Capital Ale House from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Applicants must bring a photo ID and recent picture to the audition. For more information, click here.

Good luck, Richmonders.
