If there's one thing you know about your girlfriends, it's that while they've got a big appetite for fun, they've also got a big heart for doing things that benefit other people. October is consistently known as the month of awareness; awareness against Breast Cancer, awareness against Domestic Violence, awareness to the treatment of animals. You name a reason and chances are there's a benefit being held in its honor somewhere in Richmond. And in celebration of this month of giving, may we suggest gathering up your girls for a night on the town, enjoying delicious cocktails for ...

Growing up, the change of the seasons only meant one thing for me and my sister: a shopping spree. For us, a change in the season meant that a shipment of the newest trends came crashing into our favorite stores at the mall. It also meant that soon mom would pile the two of us into the car and head off for a day, or weekend, of girl time and retail therapy. But now that I'm older and out on my own with a job, bills and my own mouth to feed, I also have my own back to clothe. And after a few ...

I don't know about you, but some of the best Girls Night Outs I've experienced have actually turned into Girls Night In. There's something special about sharing secrets, laughs and maybe even a few tears with your best gals without an entire restaurant of people watching you or evil men eavesdropping. That's why I propose that this month, while you're trying to decide what to do for that last summer hoorah with the girls, you actually make it a Girls Night In. After all, it's doesn't really matter where you are, it's who your with that counts. But ...

We've entered that point in the holiday season where, if life were like a movie, it would be time for the musical montage. There was Black Friday, the official start of the holidays, followed by 10 days or so of careful planning. But the next few weeks are going to go by in fast forward. Gift shopping, holiday parties, decorating the tree, office potlucks, wrapping presents, secret Santa exchanges, the arrival of hoards and hoards of relatives and, finally, inevitably, Christmas. It's all going to fly by, set to the tune of "Carol of Bells" – at least in my mind. ...
