New Year's Eve Party Guide

It's official.  After rampant rumors all week, the ball will rise from Carytown's Byrd Theatre tonight.  Read about it on TimesDispatch.com with "New Year’s ball to rise over Carytown tonight."

The Byrd's manager, Todd Schall-Vess, handcrafted the original illuminated ball which is six feet in diameter and surrounded by over 500 lights.  The ball has risen above the Byrd Theatre on a 40-foot-tower for the last three years and will rise again tonight.

Ball Rise:

The Byrd Theatre
Street party or not -- the ball will rise over the Byrd Theatre this New Year.  Hoof it to Carytown this year for the countdown to the ball rise atop the Byrd.  We recommend getting there by 11:30 p.m. to get a primo spot. There will probably be a police presence and the public will be asked to stay out the road.  Get there early to secure a good spot on the sidewalk.

Head to NY Deli for their New Year's Eve Party and be in a great spot to watch the ball rise.  They'll have music, DJs, food, a champagne toast..and a handful of surprises.  Be there to find out what will happen.

Open bar, appetizers, DJ, free pool, champagne toast at midnight, and split proceeds go to People Helping People Global.

Head to Bank and their underground club Vault for two parties in one.  You'll find live entertainment from The Moonlighters Jazz band in Bank while DJ Ghozt and DJ Schizo get spinning in Vault.   Free food and four open bars with complimentary drinks from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.  Champagne toast at midnight, BlackJack and party favors. Spend New Years with Bogart's. Champagne toast, party favors and great music from Roger Carroll and Chez Roue. 9:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. $5.

New Year's Eve at Infuzion
Head to the former ice bar for New Year's Eve music from Ronnie Owens and Terry Garland in the main restaurant. Step into the club for dancing 'til 2010 with electronic house music from DJ DS-95. $5.

Ring in the New Year James Bond style while raising awareness for local cancer patients at a 007 themed New Year's Eve party benefitting WhichDollar, Richmond’s cancer charity.
