Welcome to your weekly dose of the best music in town.
Biggest show of the week, hands-down: Willie Nelson is playing the National on Tuesday, the 16th.
Long-time RVA faves ILAD & Amazing Ghost perform at the Camel on Thursday, the 11th.
There's lots going on this week at Balliceaux with shows on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Monday, Tuesday and Wendesday. Most notably catch Cherry Bomb, the all-female DJ group featuring Tracy Wilson, of cute couple fame, Thursday the 11th; David Shultz and The Skyline, The Great White Jenkins and Pepi Ginsberg Friday night; Miramar (NYC-based band) Tuesday and RVA's Fight the Big Bull on Wednesday.
Lotsa good music Friday:
• The Triple brings Liza Kate, Barton Carroll and the Low Branches to Broad Street.
• Sons Of Bill, Horsehead and Exebelle & The Rusted Cavalcade perform at the Canal Club.
• Lotus and Toubab Krewe play the National.
• I mentioned this before but there's a great show at Balliceaux tonight, as well.
Saturday night you'll hear the music of Gills and Wings, Brad Doggett and Thomas Coleman at Gallery5. They're performing in support of the opening of "Sleight of Hand II: A National Juried Contemporary Craft Show."
Sunday, it's Valentine's Day and love isn't the only thing in the air.
• The Diamond Center, Jan & Dan (members of Hot Lava and Diamond Center) and One Wolf perform at the Triple.
• Celebrate the national day of love with New Found Glory, Saves the Day and Hellogoodbye at the National.
Lastly, enjoy some free jazz music Wednesday night at the Camel from the folks over at the VCU Jazz Center. Students and faculty perform.
