The 48 Hour Film Project is coming back in Richmond July 16-18.

In its fourth year here in Richmond, the 48 Hour Film Project is a weekend where filmmaking teams make a movie - writing, shooting, editing and scoring – all in 48 hours.

On Friday night, filmmakers get a character, a prop, a line of dialogue and a genre and 48 hours later, the finished movie must be turned in. The following weekend, all submitted films will be premiered on the big screen at the Byrd Theatre.

Richmonder Lucas Krost’s entry “Feels Like Drowning” won 2007’s competition in Richmond and was screened at last year’s Cannes Film Festival.

Registration for teams begins at 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday, May 25. Each year, the project filled to capacity and had a long waiting list, so be sure to register early.

For more information or to register, go to the 48 Hour Film Project website.
