The New Mainstream on Main Street

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Mainstream restaurant is now open at 1731 W. Main St., in the space that was once Plaza Mexico (and Cirrus before that).

This is owner Mike Farley’s first restaurant and he wanted a casual, laid back spot where students and Richmonders alike could come for a quick bite.

Mainstream opened for lunch on Tuesday with a menu of appetizers, soups, salads, wraps and sandwiches – with nothing over $10. Foley is hoping to have his grand opening on Friday, Nov. 19 (to coincide with his liquor license coming through).

The dinner menu will feature comfort food like grilled pork chops, lasagna and strip steak (all under $15), plus desserts that chef James Williams makes in-house.

Mainstream is open for lunch and dinner daily (dinner is ABC license contingent) plus weekend brunch. Update: They will be open for dinner with ABC ON starting at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 19.
