Folk Festival Parking

Folk Festival Parking

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Last year, over 160,000 people attended the Folk Festival. This year, organizers are hoping for even more.

That means, hundreds of thousands of people are expected to make the trek to Brown's Island this weekend for three days of free music at the Richmond Folk Festival.

Only thing you have to do?

Find parking.

There's plenty of free street parking around the festival. We recommend hitting downtown streets like Canal, Cary, Main Street and all cross streets from 8th to 4th and up.

Just be prepared to walk. If you have kids, we highly recommend strollers to get around. Also, it may be getting chilly this weekend, so be sure to bring a sweater.

But there's more than one way to get to the Folk Fest this year.

Free Shuttles

Free parking and free shuttles are available from both Spring Rock Green (formerly Beaufont Mall – directly across the street from Cloverleaf Mall) and the Diamond. All shuttles will stop at two festival locations: one at 2nd Street and one at 5th Street.

Spring Rock Green: 7202 Midlothian Turnpike, corner of Chippenham Pkwy
The Diamond: 3001 North Boulevard

Friday - 4:30 - 10:30.
Saturday - 11:30 - 10:30
Sunday - 11:30 - 6:30

The buses will leave every 15 minutes.

To the Bottom and Back Bus

Hop on the To the Bottom and Back Bus and get to the Folk Festival (for free!) in no time flat.

They'll be running the Cary/Main route for Folk Festival this Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday dropping off at 2nd and Byrd. No driving, no parking necessary with the To the Bottom and Back. And, hello, it's free. Really, these people are saints. We love them.

Check out the website for full details.
