Fan rats and Richmond beer lovers alike are raving about Friend or Pho, the new Vietnamese spot in the former White Dog location at 2329 W. Main St.
The restaurant opened a little over two weeks ago and unlike its White Dog predecessor, it’s open seven days a week for lunch, dinner and, of course, happy hour. We think Friend or Pho’s Facebook page says it best. It’s a "20 craft draft beer havin', jukebox listenin', chalkboard ceilinged, bar/restaurant featuring Korean Fried Chicken, Pho, a rainbow of spring roll options and the only Banh Mi Saigon Subs in town."
Also now open, Tropical Safari, a new smoothie spot in the old Ruchee Express, best known for its fabulous spring rolls. And, as we reported a few weeks ago, Fish Bowl Bistro & Bar is open in Shockoe Slip and The Cellar Door is up and running in the Fan.
If you’re looking forward to Restaurant Week, and who isn’t, get a preview of all the fabulousness of a three-course prix fixe menu at Amici Ristorante. The restaurant is celebrating its 19th birthday from now through Oct. 16 with a $25 three course menu. Check it out, you can make your Restaurant Week reservation while you’re there.
Over at Acacia, the folks who started the whole Restaurant Week thing, you can enjoy a special wine dinner on Thursday, Sept. 23 at 6:15.
