Richmond rockers The Jim O'Ferrell Band (aka The J.O.B.) has had a pretty eventful year.
The Americana rock group recently released their newest album "Two Thirty-One" and already hit the Top 40 chart twice in 2010.
Their single "1925" placed at #24 last week on the National Up & Coming Top 40 Chart beating out such artists as Taylor Swift, Collective Soul, Barenaked Ladies, Theory of a Deadman and other established national acts.
The chart is reported in New Music Weekly, which is recognized as the radio broadcast industry authority.
"We're really excited to see '1925' show up on the chart," O'Ferrell said. "It's getting a lot of radio play all over the world right now."
Another J.O.B. song, "El Dorado," from their first album "Back To The World," spent several weeks on the Up & Coming Top 40 list, rising to #16, earlier this year.
Even with a bit of success under its belt, the band has no plans of slowing down.
"We have a lot going on with the band right now," O'Ferrell said. "We have an opportunity to open for a national artist early next year ... We're assembling a new rhythm section for our next project ... a four-song EP with video, to be released in spring 2011 ... and we'll be playing in Richmond and hitting the road all over the mid-Atlantic over the next few weeks."
