When it comes to originality in music, most musicians tend to stick to one genre, but for local Richmond band Jackass Flats that is simply not the case.

On Saturday, June 25, Jackass Flats will be hosting an album release party for their LP ‘Rusty Feeling’ at The National.

With the album, ‘Rusty Feeling,’ the string band delves deeper into the spirit of alt-country and progressive pop, while keeping their bluegrass foundation playing strong.

The group’s innovative gritty sound has made them stand out from the crowd and share billing with a wide array of  artists, such as The Wailers, Ani DeFranco, Keller Williams, Tony Rice and Drive By Truckers.

Richmond’s No BS Brass Band and Big Daddy Love will being opening for Jackass Flats. The show is all ages.

Tickets are $12.50 in advance and $15 at the door. The show will start at 8 p.m. To learn more about Jackass Flats visit their website.
