The old Ejay Rin is completely revamped, Chef Andy Howell is back to his roots and now we all get to try the new menu.
When word got out last November that Ejay Rin was closing, Richmonders were sad to lose a Manchester restaurant, but psyched to see what Chef Andy Howell would do next.
Ejay Rin, if you recall, was the much-hyped noodle bar from powerhouse Richmond chefs Howell and Bill Foster that opened to tepid reviews and crowds. But now, after a few months of regrouping, revamping the space, and completely overhauling the concept, Howell has reopened the space on his own and is back to his wildly delicious (and always affordable) Mediterranean-influenced roots.
Camden’s Dogtown Market, the new name for the totally new spot, is a market / restaurant that’s now open Monday – Saturday with gourmet market wares, and then for lunch and dinner on the same days. Lunch started last week and dinner on Monday.
"I think we have a good working menu to dip our feet into the needs of the neighborhood without losing too many of our core principles (despite now having a TV and deep fryer)," Howell wrote in an email.
He describes the space as "Mediterranean influenced, from scratch prepared foods and local, small gourmet market."
Check out the menus and hours below, and head over to Facebook to see pictures of the new spot.
