I suppose I've never been one to go out looking for a man, but I often wonder:
Where are all the good, single men in Richmond?
Sure, there are the clubs, bars, and happy hours, but there may be a few other places you haven't thought about trying. I've compiled a list of some of the most unique places I've met interesting people in the River City:
1. The Carytown Kroger: Not to be biased, but I don't think I've encountered a grocery store and location in this city with more attractive young men. I suppose this can go for the ladies, too, because whenever I go in for my weekly shopping trip, I often feel underdressed. That place is chock full of good looking folks. Now if only they'd invest in a a cafe of some sorts so that we could mingle. Truth be told: I've been hit on more at Kroger than nights out on the town.
2. Volunteering is hot: Richmond is a great city but there's always room for improvement. There's nothing like meeting someone you are attracted to who also has a good heart and a passion for change. Practically every non-profit in Richmond could use your services so look some up and see who else is hanging out and helping out.
3. Taking a Stroll: It's summertime and everyone is outside. Walking in the fan, downtown, and forest hill are ideal for single sightings. On occasion, Richmond holds true to its southern charm and neighbors reach out to say hello.
4. Brunch, anyone?: The bars may be packed at night but come daylight, they are even more busy with customers trading stories from the night before. You're in the same proximity to someone as you were just hours before, but this time you are sober and might actually remember meeting them.
5. Summertime Music: Friday Cheers might already been done for the season but other venues are still pumping out good bands and comradery. Places like Innsbrook and The National offer cheap concerts and people who share your same taste in music.
I'm curious where do you meet people in Richmond? If you're attached, where did you meet your significant other? Hop on the comments section and share your finds.
