Recipe for Two Kinds of Wings

The fine folks at Kroger have whipped up two easy recipes (and shopping lists) for fun, upscale chicken wings.

Here are two ways Kroger’s Chef Seth (from the Short Pump store) recommends preparing wings for Super Bowl parties. Both of these recipes will yield a lot of sauce and are perfect for parties of 15-20 people.

For both recipes, readers should bake or fry (depending on their preference) the wings and then toss in the sauce of their choosing, coating well. Plan on 8-12 wings per person.

Ingredients:

Hot Wings

4 pints fresh raspberries

2 bottles hot sauce

1.5 cups granulated sugar

1 stick of butter

BBQ Berry Compote Wings

1/2 cup Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ Sauce

4 pints black berries

16 oz red wine

1.5 cups granulated sugar

Directions for preparing either sauce:

Step 1: Sanitize all work areas, cutting boards, equipment and sinks used in the preparation of this recipe.

Step 2: Place all ingredients in a medium sauce pan and cook until butter has melted and the berries are soft.

Step 3: Carefully transfer to a blender and mix until you get a smooth consistency.

Step 4: In a large bowl, toss the cooked wings in this sauce, coating liberally.

Step 5: Enjoy!
