Black Dog, the legendary vagabond Chow mix of the near West End, died on Thursday. Mark Holmberg, while at the Richmond Times-Dispatch, wrote several articles on how Black Dog was seemingly almost a mythical creature to the neighborhood. Living for more than 2 decades, he avoided dog catchers, tranquilizers, an animal control.
