Check out the awesome Valentine’s Day menus from Richmond restaurants.

This year we’re trying something new with our annual compilation of Valentine’s Day menus. For the past seven years, we’ve posted the full menus from every restaurant that sent them in and, to be honest, it became a little unreadable.

With so many awesome restaurants, serving up so many great menus, what started out as a structured and small listing became pages and pages of random food descriptions.

So this year we’re doing a couple things differently:

  • For restaurants whose menus are online, we’re listing the price and number of courses with a link to the full menu.
  • For restaurants that aren’t online (or that haven’t posted their menus online), we’re listing the price and courses and only the entrée selections (instead of the full, multi-course menus).
  • We’re also segregating the two, listing restaurants with online-menus first.

Is this my passive aggressive attempt to force restaurants to have and keep updated websites? Probably. But it’s also to make it easier for diners to get the information they want (see last year’s to be reminded about the awful formatting).

If you don’t like it, tell us and we’ll revert to the old format next year. Until then, happy dining!
