This online community conversation, also called #steakchatRVA, focuses on a different topic affecting Richmonders and takes place every other month.

Hosted by Morton’s the Steakhouse in partnership with Hodges Partnership and Richmond.com, the Evening at Morton’s series kicked off last year with three spirited conversations on sports, the arts and nonprofits in Richmond.

The public is invited to “listen” in – and even participate – by following the conversation online via blog here and Twitter with the hashtag #steakchatRVA.

While the actual dinner at the Shockoe Slip restaurant is private, Richmonders can participate in the discussion by submitting questions and comments to @Richmonddotcom on Twitter, by way of the live-blog on Richmond.com and emailing advanced question to content [at] richmond.com.

The conversation also will be audio recorded and made available on the Richmond.com site following the event.

The best conversations happen over dinner, is the idea behind the "Evening at Morton’s: An Online Community Conversations," which includes six Evening at Morton’s events that take place throughout the year on such topics as the James River, Richmond neighborhoods and transportation. John Sarvay, founder of Floricane and the popular Richmond blog “Buttermilk and Molasses,” moderates the discussions.

This year's discussions are:

Feb. 23 Young Professional Business Climate
April 20 Richmond Neighborhoods: The Changing Character of the Places We Call Home
June 22 The Future of Richmond's Past (Civil War and Emancipation)
Aug. 24 James River
Oct. 19 Richmond Restaurants
Dec. TBD To be Announced
