Entertainment: Richmond Folk Festival

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Ever since the National Folk Festival gave birth in 2008 to the Richmond Folk Festival, the local event has become a highlight of each year. Drawing more than 160,000 people to the downtown riverfront, it showcases arts on a global level on seven different stages.

Music at last year’s event ranged from Bob French’s Original Tuxedo Jazz Band to Trouble Funk, plus such unusual offerings as cowboy poetry by Paul Zarzyski and Tuvan throat-singing by Khoqzhumchu. Best of all, the entertainment is free.

The 2010 festival, offering about 30 acts, will be held Oct. 8-10. As acts are signed up, they will be posted at richmondfolkfestival.com.
