The Chamberlayne Actors' Theatre begins its new season with the Tony Award-winning play I’m Not Rappaport. The story takes place under a bridge in Central Park, where two older men meet and are determined to fight off attempts to put them out to pasture.
I’m Not Rappaport is running now until November 8 at the Chamberlayne Actors Theatre, 319 N. Wilkinson Road. Showtimes are at 8pm and Sunday matinees are at 2:30pm. To purchase tickets or for more information, call the box office at 804-262-9760 or go to cattheatre.com.
Also: The First Annual Bootleg Shakespeare Production presented by Henley Street Theatre Company. It takes place this Friday, Oct. 30 at 8pm at Barksdale Theatre. In a one night only, free performance, professional Richmond actors will come together with their lines memorized and their own costumes and props to mount an unrehearsed production of Shakespeare’s classic, Romeo & Juliet. In this Elizabethan style of staging anything can happen. The event is free but it is recommended that you arrive early to get a ticket.
